Magnetic implant X-ray

I finally got around to digitizing the X-ray image I took of the magnetic implants I have in the fingers of my left hand. The image below shows the location of the implanted disc magnet within the pad of the ring finger.

How do you get pass airport security? Do you still have em inserted?

The magnet being very small makes it too weak to be picked up by airport security metal scanners. And yes, 1 year 6 months on and I still have them in and have not had any trouble :-)

I advice you to check it every six months...a foreign body insult to the body in an open tissue cant be good...inert metal or not, it could stil pose a danger...im hoping u had all this figure out before hand...

I did spend quite a while trying to figure out the safest way to do this. The magnet I used is coated in a biocompatible material called Parylene C, which is also used for coating a few other body implanted devices. But, as it goes with anything implanted into the body, it indeed does pose a danger. So far the Parylene coating seems to be doing its job!
